Bruce Billson is a tireless supporter of John Howard. Always keen to be seen with John Howard in public, jumping into the frame of the Prime Minister's photo opportunities, calling talkback radio stations to defend his besieged leader, Bruce is always there with John.

The problem with all this is that John Howard is a proven liar. Does this mean that Bruce Billson thinks that lying to the public he represents is ok ? Nobody has seen Bruce Billson criticise the dishonest ways of John Howard, so some people might assume that the truth doesn't matter to Bruce.

John Howard has pursued a policy of being George W Bush's little deputy sheriff. Blindly walking into a war which was brought about on the basis of lies. (seems lies are a common theme here!). John Howard and George W Bush told us that there were Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. They assured us that the intelligence services, that we all rely upon to keep us safe from foreign threats, had the proof! They didn't and despite howls of protest from the majority of Australian citizens, John Howard sent our troops to fight in a war based on lies. Meanwhile Bruce Billson stands by his leader. Does this mean that Bruce supports wars that kill innocent people for absolutely no decent end result ? It's a scary thought.

Parliamentary Positions Bruce Holds

• Chairman - House of Representatives Standing Committee on the Environment & Heritage.
• Chairman - Government Members' Policy Committee on the Environment & Heritage.
  • Funny Jobs for a man insisting new freeways be built for free to encourage even more use of cars. Bruce hasn't been so loud on the benefits of Public Transport and he isn't very clear about his environmental credentials, for example he is part of the Government that refuses to sign the Kyoto protocol to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save the planet

  • So what about the abuse of parliamentary positions by members of the Government ? John Howard bailing his brother's business out with taxpayer money. Wilson Tuckey misusing letterhead in support of his sons misdemeanors. The misuse of travel entitlements and who could forget Peter Reiths embarrasing episode with the misuse of his parliamentary calling card. Not a real good track record hey Bruce ?
    
    
• Member - Various Government Members' Policy Committees on Education & Training; Health and Aged Care; Family & Community Services; Communications, IT and the Arts; Veterans' Affairs; Immigration; and Outer-Metropolitan Communities.
  • Looks nice in theory but the fact is that none of these positions have helped move our country forward in any of these areas. Bruce Billson has been part of a Government which has demolished the chance of many hard working students to get access to University Places. Health and Aged Care have been slashed and cut by the Howard Liberal Government to the point of near system collapse. Australia does not have a viable IT industry and was set back 10 years by the reign of Senator Alston. The Government's track record on human rights abuses with regard to people seeking asylum has been disgusting and if Frankston is an example of Bruce Billson's ideal outer metropolitan community then we really need someone new on these committees. In fact, throw Bruce Billson out of his job. Vote for someone more worthy.
