The electorate of Dunkley has an appalling unemployment rate, many poor people are forced to choose between housing and food, long waits for employment assistance and a terrible lack of bulk billing doctors. Meanwhile Bruce has been pursuing endless photo opportunities, calling talkback radio to jump to the defence of John Howard and leading a populist campaign for a free road that will lead to increased car use and even more problems with green house gas emissions.

Help Bruce to Build the Scoresby Freeway and encourage an increased use of Motor Vehicles leading to more pollution!

"There is no single endeavour that will enhance the viability, vitality and living standards of our region more than a toll-free Scoresby Freeway." says Bruce Billson.

How can a freeway enchance living standards ? Aside from the adverse environmental effects of freeways, public funding of freeways diverts much needed funding from more important social initiatives.

Bruce Billson is running an opportunistic campaign in support of the freeway to appeal to his audience of Liberal Party Supporters. Everybody who has an interest in motor cars and roads will support a free freeway, however for someone who lauds himself as an environmentalist to pursue such a short sighted policy is laughable.

"It seems only a ‘grass-roots fight for a brighter future’ will pressure the Bracks Government to honour its election promise and contractual obligations to build a toll-free Scoresby Freeway. " says Bruce Billson.

What about the never ever GST ? the destruction of Medicare ? the increase in poverty and personal debt in the electorate ? Perhaps a freeway will help those poor families who can't even afford food let alone a car ? Bruce Billson is interested into pandering to the special interest groups who support him.

Bruce has heard and understood community concerns about the affordability and accessibility of health services. In the face of this concern he has participated in the biggest reduction the availability of public healthcare by any single Australian Government.

Bulk Billing is almost impossible to find in Frankston and surrounding areas, the few doctors who do bulk bill are over-worked and always difficult to see. Medicare has been savaged by Bruce Billson and his Liberal colleagues.

Bruce Billson supports policies which prop up fat profitable insurance giants and take health care away from families.

Bruce Billson is a key supporter of John Howard. John Howard stands for the dismantling of Medicare and the removal of universal health care for all people. Under the policies of the Howard Liberal Government less and less people will be able to see a doctor or get timely assistance at a public hospital. Quality health care will become unavailable to all people except the rich.

Tackling the Tough Issues – The Dunkley Drugs Plan

Bruce Billson developed the ‘Dunkley Drugs Plan’ before the last election and has continued to work to ensure its implementation.

Yet nothing of substance has changed. Drugs are still a major issue facing the community of Frankston and the electorate of Dunkley. Drug related crime is rife, drug dependence in schools and teenagers is at an all time high. Disparate and uncoordinated efforts have done nothing more than provide Bruce Billson a few more photo opportunities.
