On the basis of flimsy intelligence and a web of lies, Bruce Billson enthusiastically supported Australia joining with the United States of America in the illegal war on Iraq.

Killing tens of thousands of innocent civillians including young children and women, the war was fought to rid Iraq of weapons it never had. Bruce Billson, John Howard and all of the people involved in this reprehensible decision have blood on their hands.

Ugly as it is, this is the truth. An illegal war waged against a country armed with rusty rifles and ancient artillery. The deadly firepower of US, British and Australian armed forces was felt by the innocent people of Iraq, people who had already suffered at the hands of a relentless dictator.

John Howard and Bruce Billson didn't ask you if you wanted to go to war against Iraq. They just did it without public consultation. We were assured the war was justified. We now know it was just another lie. A lie which cost little boys and girls their lives at the sharp end of US, UK and Australian bullets. Innocent people killed for a war to rid Iraq of weapons that didn't exist.

Before the war people inside the Intelligence Agencies warned John Howard that the weapons weren't there, Andrew Wilke resigned from the Office of National Assesments in disgust. The unjust war went on and people's kids, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were slaughtered by George Bush, John Howard and supporters like Bruce Billson.

"We salute those who have served our nation in times of conflict; our many tireless volunteers; those who have helped shape our community and people who go the extra distance for the benefit of others." You have to be kidding Bruce!
